How important is a nation's complete economic independence to you compared to potential benefits from foreign investment?

I agree with foreign trade but I heavily disagree with raiding another country for it's resources and abusing the people who live there

Its important for a country to be able to stand on their own without needing the help of others. If a war or conflict were to break out, you wouldnt want to depend on another country for your safety.

it is very important, if you rely on a foreign country for resources then they will have you buy the throat, which means they can dictate prices, terms, and really whatever they want. if you get majority of oil from a country and you make that country mad, they can and will stop providing you with oil
