The US does not claim such a thing. That would be a collective response from an entire country. Citizens have varying opinions, no opinion, lack understanding, etc. The US in and of itself cannot make claims.

Slavery. I have lots of black friends and I think what us white people did to them was very wrong and I'm glad we have now seen that and moved past it.
