Since the war with Russia started the United States has provided about half of the foreign military assistance to Ukraine’s arsenal, roughly $47 billion.
A measure that would allow American arms to flow to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan and fund border security was defeated in a Senate vote on Wednesday amid growing Republican opposition and deep division on Capitol Hill.
“Ukraine could effectively hold for some part of this year” without more American military aid, Michael Kofman, a Russia expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, said in a telephone interview. “But over time there would be no prospect to rebuild the military, and they will start to lose slowly.”

The United States is going to spend $1.1 trillion on defense in the new fiscal year. And yet, we don't hear a word about how that money could be better spent on domestic programs bettering the lives of struggling Americans. The Senate is looking to give Israel $14 billion in spite of their questionable conduct of the Gaza invasion. And yet, we don't hear a word about how our taxpayer dollars will be wasted.
But when it comes to the additional $60 billion in support we want to give Ukraine on top of the $110 billion we've already provided, suddenly there's this outcry about… Read more
If Putin wins in Ukraine, the issues at home won't matter much, as the signal to China, Russia, Iran etc. is that the West is giving up, and they are free to advance into other smaller countries, one country at a time. What do you think will happen if China takes over Taiwan, where most semiconductors used by the world (and the US) are manufactured?
Putin will perform whatever interference he can to make Trump king of the US, so then they can all take immediate advantage of that foolish, ignorant, uneducated king.
Well, I'll tell you one thing: Ukraine deserves our financial support in defending democracy MUCH more than Israel does.
So much for all the oodles of sanctions against Russia. When it comes to this war, they have done very little to help on the ground.

Donald Trump wants his revenge on Zelensky who did not support the former president in his efforts to wrangle a tale of corruption about the Bidens out of Ukraine. That led to the former president's first impeachment.
And Donald Trump does not want Joe Biden to be perceived as a world leader and a winner.
This all comes down to a nasty man who has the Republican party licking his boots. What a disgrace he is and they are.

To the politicians... please continue supporting Ukraine. These are people who have not given up even as they have faced incredible odds during the past two years. They have fought and continue to fight for their country. Don't decrease the support.
