Yes and no. We are on the brink of ww3 and that would effect the citizens day to day.

Our inability to have a coherent functional society with healthy and sane citizens and a functional monetary system is far more dangerous than any current geopolitical threat. The fact the US is no longer the single dominant superpower in the world and has become morally bankrupt has left a power vacuum that has created all of the current geopolitical instability in the first place. Get our own house in order first, then if we must, influence foreign affairs via free and open trade and diplomacy, not military power projection.
