America spent a trillion dollars in Afghanistan and basically got nothing for it. America spent a trillion dollars in Iraq and basically got nothing for it. China spent a trillion and got a foothold in the global south.

Xi has been a hugely destabilising influence globally over the past decade.

I am simultaneously impressed with China's rapid industrialisation and gravely disappointed with the conflict they have seeded.

They could have been a positive influence.

Please remember that the entire GDP of Russia is a small fraction of California's. They are in no position to declare a new world order. At best they can hope to be a vassal state of China.

Every time Putin makes a nuclear threat to the West, the response should be additional shipment of long-range missiles to Ukraine.

The number increases each time.

This would end Putin's "signalling" overnight.
