Should the government increase video surveillance in public places?

This is not a political issue I am not educated on, and as such I will not voice my opinion so I don't say something stupid. Gut reactions are not reflective of complicated political issues.

You should place video surveillance in high crime areas, but having more resources in a community won't cause as much problems, due to already implemented resources meant to improve everyone who lives in that area.
