Imagine if volunteering and community service were optimized by experts; would this change the sense of personal fulfillment you get from it?

 @9J2MKTH from California answered…4mos4MO

While technocracy is an alluring idea, it is a far better aspiration to improve the actual educational outcomes of all citizens so they are capable and informed for participation in a representational democracy like our constitutional republic. In this regard, we have failed much of our citizenry.

 @9J2MC6JWomen’s Equality from Washington answered…4mos4MO

Yes this would change the personal fulfillment you receive for your wrongdoing

 @9J2MKFY from Washington D.C. answered…4mos4MO

Perhaps people should always have a voice in the community neighborhoods and country

 @9J2MHJTDemocrat  from Idaho answered…4mos4MO

Optimizing these kinds of things makes it less fulfilling. Rather than going out and helping in any way you can, it would be like running down a checklist.

If an algorithm could provide you the perfect career path, would you follow it or choose your own?

 @9J2LN3F from Nevada answered…4mos4MO

I would see what the path is to my career and decide then. If I don't like it then I would not follow it and choose my own.

 @9J4BCSDRepublican from Montana disagreed…4mos4MO

You shouldn't be told your career otherwise we are on the path to China's stances. It is important to choose yourself not what someone else tells you.

 @9J2MS2Q from Ohio answered…4mos4MO

I would think about it for a while before making a decision. Ultimately I think I would try that career path perhaps to prove if the algorithm was correct or not.

How would personal relationships and trust be affected in a world where scientific data overshadows personal advice from friends and family?

 @9JFM8Z4 from Indiana answered…4mos4MO

How would the expert committees be held accountable for their actions. Would average people be willing to allow expert committees to determine what is best for everyone and who would decide which people were qualified to make those decisions.

 @9JFLSLRSocialist from Georgia answered…4mos4MO

I believe it will hurt them, as age and wisdom could be overshadowed by data, even when the data is poorly produced.

 @9JFLRGY from New York answered…4mos4MO

Personal relationships and trust will still exist and provide a counterweight to raw scientific data. While I support technocratic systems in general and in principle, these personal touches will be necessary to prevent inhumane abuses justified by science yet rejected by simple morality.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO

Could you find fulfillment in your hobbies if a system suggested activities based on efficiency of skill development?

 @9LCQG4N from California answered…1mo1MO

How would you react to a policy implementing robot referees in sports based on their accuracy over human judgment?

 @9KNF6JL from Pennsylvania answered…2mos2MO

I think we should keep human judgment because it is taking jobs away from Americans.

 @9KPNZKL from Pennsylvania disagreed…2mos2MO

That would encourage other people to replace humans with robots then no money will go around through employment

 @9KNDD7J from Massachusetts answered…2mos2MO

They will just be programs and could be less accurate

 @9KP257V from Utah disagreed…2mos2MO

They could be, but aren't. If they are tested extensively and proven to be more accurate, then they should be allowed to referee.

 @9KNDCK8Socialist from North Carolina answered…2mos2MO

No. Robots and AI make mistakes and do not understand nuance.

 @9KPMGK3 from Wisconsin disagreed…2mos2MO

It takes away some of the human error in the sport and most sports have some level of luck so therefore humans should be involved.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

How might creativity and innovation be affected in a society where decisions are based strictly on data and expertise?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

If a robot could perfectly enforce laws, where would you draw the line between safety and personal freedoms?

 @9J2KRWB from Utah answered…4mos4MO

I would prefer a human being enforce the law. Given the element of human connection, empathy and compassion are two things a robot does not have the capacity to weigh that in from an emotional level. I know humans are not perfect, but I believe this something we can continue to strive for when enforcing the law.

 @9J2KDG3 from Georgia answered…4mos4MO

Technology is a slippery slope because while i do think its useful for technology to help us with simple tasks or making our day to day lives simpler, jobs like a police officer should be saved for humans.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

What measure would you put in place to ensure a technocratic government stays connected to the people it serves?

 @9J2MX5C from Illinois answered…4mos4MO

Background checks and well as surveillance in order to protect the people.

If public health decisions were made only by doctors, do you believe the outcomes would always be fair?

 @9HJKW5YRepublican from Texas answered…5mos5MO

Not sure, but it is important to have decisions about these matters made by people who actually know because they studied it.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

Would you trust an artificial intelligence programmed by experts to make legal judgements over human judges?

 @9HJLF5S from Georgia answered…5mos5MO

It's not a bad idea, so long as it's trained using Christian theology and past legal cases.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

If you could optimize your diet and exercise regime with the help of health experts and AI, to what extent would you want their advice to dictate your daily choices?

Could a technocrat ever truly capture the heart and spirit of a nation in the same way traditional leaders might?

 @9JQKQSP from Texas answered…3mos3MO

I feel technocracy and technology as a whole has no business in a human affair such as a human election they can report on such a thing but it is of no business for them to lead us.

 @9JQKHS5 from California answered…3mos3MO

No, charisma is needed in a leader, and we can't reliably trust things such as AI to be our choice in major decision making. AI is mostly just a summation of beliefs, we would need someone who is reasonable and has conviction rather than an AI.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

If entertainment content was created based on algorithms that predict success rates, how would it change what you watch or listen to?

 @9JH553Y from Minnesota answered…4mos4MO

efficacy gaps that persist between governing bodies employing technocratic principles and members of the general public aiming to contribute to government decision making.

 @9JH4NCJLibertarian from Ohio answered…4mos4MO

feel like we'd only watch what we want instead of something challenging

Would you prefer personal health decisions, like vaccine schedules, be handled by doctors and AI systems rather than by individual choice?

 @9JS7D22 from New Jersey answered…3mos3MO

I would prefer personal health decisions be handled by individual choice rather than doctors and AI systems unless the situation is very serious.

 @9JS46LY from Nebraska answered…3mos3MO

I think the help of AI systems could be nice but at no point should humans rely on AI for basic needs
