How do you feel about the possibility of robots and AI becoming your future coworkers?

 @9KBJ5WCSocialist from Alabama answered…3mos3MO

I dislike having jobs taken from humans, factory jobs and production lines were always a stable job that anyone could apply to that is now totally automated.

 @9KJCYVL from North Carolina agreed…2mos2MO

Where are we, humans, meant to work if AI takes all of the jobs? If we advance AI (which we shouldn't) to the point where they can do our jobs for us, then how do we earn an income, that takes so many jobs away from people who need them just for the sake of innovation.

Discuss a time when a technology you rely on failed, and how you managed without it.

 @9KBLNWP from California answered…3mos3MO

My phone failed to give me information for my homework so I solved the problem on my own in an hour.

 @9KHVQZT from California agreed…2mos2MO

The student was able to explain a time when technology failed them , and then how they were able to solve their issue: by solving the problem themselves.

 @9KBLBW8 from Illinois answered…3mos3MO

Whenever my phone goes out and it doesn't work, I just don't use my phone.

While technology is useful to us, it is still incredibly new, it evolves quickly yes but it is still susceptible to failure. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket." We need to learn to adapt and stay malleable in times where technology fails us.

There was a time when my phone died when i was doing an animation project. I simply watched television until the phone got fixed.

What fears or hopes do you have about technology's role in future education and career opportunities?

 @9JB3Q5X from Kentucky answered…4mos4MO

I fear that technology would cover up Pastafarianism and it would come to an end

 @9JBJN8Z from Illinois answered…4mos4MO

It's essential to navigate the integration of technology in education and career opportunities thoughtfully, addressing these concerns and leveraging the benefits to create a more inclusive and innovative learning environment.

 @9JB56G9 from Minnesota answered…4mos4MO

technology is both good and bad for teaching, everyone has their own way of learning and truly, that should be recognized, for example, with me, just give me some sort of instructions and tell me what to do, and I can try to replicate the answer my own way to the best of my abilities with no help, my friend, you kinda have to sit him down and teach him exactly what it is, show it to him, and show the process in order for him to get it

What's one problem you face that you wish technology could solve instantly, and how would it change your life?

A lot of the time it feels like they’re using the development of technology as a way of solving unnecessary problems and taking away jobs from people who need them, when they could be used for things like researching and finding a cure for cancer.

Technocentrism must be balanced by human perspectives. Technology has no soul and relies purely on reason. While reason is important, human emotion is also important and must balance out technology.

Not all progress is good, however technologies must be contextualized within a culture. If the culture cannot incorporate the new technology without causing undue harm, that culture may need to avoid adopting the technology or risk unforeseen consequences. In the past, technological innovations have changed labor, both for the good and for evil. The cotton gin increased demand for slave labor until society was able to find an alternative and force a change. Automation and robotics both reduced the number of manufacturing jobs while also increasing safety and quality. It isn't inhere…  Read more
