Scientifically, a fetus is not a "potential life"; a fetus is a living thing. We should be putting more money into improving our adoption system, than funding abortion.

Actually, yes, you can easily get around that fact because whether or not the fetus is a life is completely irrelevant to the issue. All that matters is the bodily autonomy of the mother, since she alone has the right to decide who can or cannot use her body, at any time, for any or no reason. The fetus, nor anyone else, has no right to decide whether they can use her body, because that is her decision, even if it means they will die.
