Unarmed teachers are put in the impossible position of having to place themselves between the threat and their students. Without the ability to defend themselves, you are creating soft targets and more victims. Security guards cannot be everywhere at once. Arm teachers to be able to protect themselves and students until help arrives.

We have no way to know if teachers will give their life for their students, and they themselves may be the ones with the gun in a shooting. There should instead be increased security and if possible security guards should be hired.

What would stop that teacher from bringing a gun from home? Are you suggesting that a security guard couldn’t shoot up a school? Why do you trust them over the people in charge of educating our kids?
