An extraordinary warning call to a Palestinian dentist starts the panicked evacuation of a Gazan neighbourhood.
It was Thursday 19 October at about 06:30, and Israel had been bombing Gaza for 12 days straight.
He'd been in his third-floor, three-bedroom flat in al-Zahra, a middle-class area in the north of the Gaza Strip. Until now, it had been largely untouched by air strikes.
He'd heard a rising clamour outside. People were screaming. "You need to escape," somebody in the street shouted, "because they will bomb the towers".
As he left his building and crossed the road, looking for a safe place, his phone lit up.
It was a call from a private number.
"I'm speaking with you from Israeli intelligence," a man said down the line, according to Mahmoud.
That call would last more than an hour - and it would be the most terrifying call of his life.

Israel is in a difficult place where they need to defend their citizens while trying to avoid civilian casualties. Although the Israeli government is insane i do not believe that they are calling the shots on a Palestinian genocide i do not believe that israel is "the bad guy" (the decision of shutting water and so on from gaza is a terrible thing though)

Israel has the right and obligation to defend itself and the way to do that is eradicating Hamas and other terrorist organizations. The two hours show they are not targeting civilians and they need to provide every warning possible to make sure innocent people are aware and not be used as human shields.

Israel has been bombing and committing acts of colonial apartheid against the Palestinian people for decades now, well before the recent Hamas attack, not to mention that the state of Israel has killed over 10,00 Palestinians, including thousands of children, so far...this is absolutely not justified or "reasonable". It is a bomb. I feel as though if a bomb is impending anywhere in the world, there is some sort of urgency or tension. This will not only have an immense detriment on the specific country, but the rest of the world and it's environment. There is a better way for these issues to be solved, and mass extinction is not at all the answer.

When Hamas builds tunnels under residential areas, this is the best you can do. Get the civilians out of the way, then collapse the infrastructure before more civilians get killed in the next Hamas attack.

What does it mean by "we have the order to bomb"? That's simply not enough context. It could be used in a good way or a bad way. My opinion stays neutral until I get the context.
