Do you think the human race will ever reach a point where war is obsolete?

The human race can definitely reach that point once the competition of capitalism is removed from our society

Human nature will always cause people to defend their own resources and the resources of "their people". People will look out for themselves and their own interests.

I agree that people are motivated to defend their resources and look out for their own. But I must beg the question: what is the sole motivating factor for why people behave this way? Under a system that has gotten rid of and progressed past capitalism, there would be no profit motive and that would remove competition and get rid of the need to horde and "defend you resources". If you are aware of the nature vs nurture question, the answer is very much both. Yes, people are naturally built to survive and look out for their own, especially when they feel in danger. But there is a certain degree of hostility that is taught to you as you grow up in a capitalistic society so that you don't get scammed or used or tricked. In a society where there is no money, no class, no state, there would be no need to scam or trick you, we don't have money. The only way we would be able to get things is through cooperation like we had to do for thousands of years. If you are good at making shirts, and I can build a piano, the only way for us to truly get these things wouldn't be to kill each other and take them, we would have to work out a deal and honor it if we want these things, otherwise, we are out of luck. So long as we still have capitalism, we will continue to feel under threat and isolated. IT IS Read more
