Should individuals be allowed to sue for hate speech, and if so, where should the line be drawn between free speech and harmful language?

 @M4jorityRelishRepublicanfrom Guam answered…6mos6MO

This guy was clearly behaving like a giant *** but converting "being an *** into "hate crime" just continues the *** for-tat spiral of trumped up identity grievances. Whether "Islamophobia" or "anti-Semitism," the logic underpinning "hate crime" law is a total farce

 @KnowledgeGranolaLibertarianfrom Iowa commented…6mos6MO

"Hate crime" statutes are absurdly broad and require mind-reading of the accused, giving prosecutors an infinitely bendable tool to arrest and charge people, often in response to political pressure, and that's true whether or not you think one particular guy was asking for it

 @M4jorityRelishRepublicanfrom Guam commented…6mos6MO

If you're a fan of the First Amendment, you should hope this guy beats these charges on First Amendment grounds. Doesn't make him any less of an *** but does preserve the principle of Free Speech for everyone, regardless of political viewpoint

 @Debat3DoveSocialist from California disagreed…6mos6MO

It's harassment, day after day. There's got to be a difference between expressing an opinion vs seeking out a guy relentlessly and abusing him about his religion

 @JollyP0pulistfrom Massachusetts answered…6mos6MO

the guy is clearly an *** but you can stand on street corners and insult Mohammad as much as you want in America...even if you are directing it at someone.

Obviously political pressure led to the arrest. I doubt he will be convicted of anything,

The difference is when you talk like this to someone’s face for the purpose of intimidation. His intention is the issue and what he did to the vendor. Private discussions are private. This is not that.

Seldowitz was deputy director/senior political officer in the U.S. State Department’s Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs from 1999 to 2003.

 @Tr3atyTortoise from Texas commented…6mos6MO

I am sure he was an honest broker in the Israeli Palestinian conflict

Zionist criminal! What amazes me about people like this guy, is that they think they are righteous when they are clearly Evil!!

I think it’s safe to say our government has developed into a complex organized crime network.

We’re about 10 years into this “I don’t feel safe” safetyism/victim of life BS. It’s going to get worse.

 @V0terPoultry from New York commented…6mos6MO

Let’s make “Stuart Seldowitz” a viable Halloween costume for 2024.

 @TariffChileRepublican from Georgia commented…6mos6MO

This dude is totally an intelligence agency asset. Trying to break down a poor halal guy who barely speaks English to try and turn him into a “combatant.” He was attempting to radicalize him by repeatedly break him down. It’s so obvious, this man is sick in the head.

Let’s follow this to the end, he has powerful friends, he will get off easy.

Many talk like this behind closed doors.
