No, common core is great in theory, but it adds irrelevant information and value to subjects that most children will never use out of school. Basic knowledge of life should be taught, as well as a goal for increasing a child’s ability to think critically and problem solve. Basic life skills are more important than calculus and geography unless they decide to go into a job requiring that knowledge.
