Barack Obama in 2005: “We all agree on the need to better secure the border…we simply can not allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people...who are waiting lawfully”

Obama said that, lying through his teeth, he did little to stop the problem

Well I mean personally I have little problem with helping secure the border, I just think that separating families, building walls, or using disgusting methods of keeping them back is unlawful and wrong. I’d suggest we make accommodations at the border to keep migrants housed better while they wait, and to increase the efficiency of the immigration system’s process, not to simply shut everyone out. If illegal immigrants show, I wouldn’t deport them, I’d have them go through registration, and if they don’t have papers, we give them decent living conditions with people on the border while we find that registration.

That's the difference between you and me – you have more sympathy for illegal aliens than the American citizens whose lives they're ruining, whereas I have more sympathy for American citizens who call this nation home than illegal aliens whose first act in this country was a gross violation of its laws.

Most immigrants come to America with a strong desire for a better life, and were working long hours with less pay. Now, in America, they have a much better chance, meaning that they’ll very likely contribute massively to the economy by creating new businesses and adding to the employment sector of the economy, while also contributing in taxes. They don’t hurt us, they empower us. The problem many have is those that don’t work, but they remain a minority on the scale of things. I don't care what desires they have, they do not have a right to break the laws in this country, period. They are all criminals, and some of them quite violent, drug traffickers, rapists, etc.

And many are children, ones with desperation, fear, and a home they’ve been forced to flee. Believe it or not, people die outside the border while waiting to go through the process, so if you were desperate and had to wait years in a disgusting camp just to see the ones you love, wouldn’t you be desperate enough to try and get in other ways? We need to ask WHY long before we ask WHAT they did. I’m not allowing them the right, I’m saying that I understand their situation, and that to supplement the reason of the problem, we need to take it out at the source, which is our slow process of migration review, which could easily be sped up and perfected WITHOUT safety being taken out of the equation with the very funding we would’ve used to build a wall and make the problem worse.
