The homeless, like anyone, can behave unpredictably and engage in violent conflict which presents a higher threat when squatting, which itself is already generally illegal in blue and red cities alike if not whole states. Squatting tends to happen in what aren’t meant to be habitable locations and structures; some are restricted property, some are just contemned buildings, some are other people’s own homes.
