We funded this assault. We supplied the weapons. We gave it every shred of diplomatic support and credibility it could possibly wish.
The world blames us along with Israel. Nobody with a brain doubts that. As Mr. Friedman says, that's not the end but the beginning of the whole dismal and outrageous story.
I wish more Democrats would push Biden on this issue. I've been motivated since last November to do so, but it really hit a new gear after the flour massacre. This does not feel like some typical political issue to me. This cuts deeper into the depths of human experience, in this case profound suffering. Covid stopped us all in our tracks, and this war should as well.

You hold the perspective that Israel is not entitled to self-defense. This view is not isolated, echoing the sentiment of numerous neighboring nations that contest its very legitimacy. Additionally, it is disheartening to observe the prevalence of the belief that Jews should not exist.
Fortunately, there is a counter-narrative, supported by others, asserting the right to existence for both Jews and Israel. As a Jewish individual with an inherent aspiration for the existence of both myself and my children, I am grateful that this more inclusive and affirming argument prevails.
