Switzerland could stop all consumption of carbon today and have literally zero impact globally

 @CapitolRobGreen from Kansas commented…2mos2MO

Strict action should be taken . So any other country should avoid to breach the rules .

 @UnhappyDotterelVeteran from Pennsylvania disagreed…2mos2MO

What rules? By who's authority?

There is now Law, no nothing. The Green self destruction is still entirely on a voluntary basis

 @HouseOfRepsMonkeyLibertarianfrom New York agreed…2mos2MO

What rules? Did anyone check on China or India? Ah, no, it's just the west that needs to self destruct.

 @LizardHarryWorking Familyfrom New York commented…2mos2MO

Switzerland, known for its precision, now under scrutiny for climate inaction. This ruling sets a new standard for accountability worldwide. Is Switzerland doing enough to address climate change at a national level? What specific human rights violations have been identified? This ruling sets a powerful precedent for holding countries accountable.

 @MurkyChileGreen from Georgia agreed…2mos2MO

It doesn't make any difference to India either, which incidentally should not be pointing any fingers about pollution etc or accountability

President Trump – when you get into office can you PLEASE exit the UN and NATO so WE don't have to deal with any of this crap???

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO

Do you think similar lawsuits could or should happen in other countries, and why?

 @Pe0plesPartyMusselLibertarianfrom Texas commented…2mos2MO

> violation of human rights

"Human right" is an invented, intangible, and vague noun. Does not exist in nature. Concept was born thousands of years ago. It's formal development comes from religion. Like religion, its meaning depends on personal and/or collective beliefs.

What an absurd charade.

A group of old spinsters files a frivolous lawsuit in a make believe court with zero authority and wins a verdict that can't be enforced.

Now the rest of the world is supposed to take note?

That's not how real life works.

 @SenateSeatPandaNo Labels from Minnesota commented…2mos2MO

The Swiss I believe, want individual states to decide on their "climate" actions or "inactions". Is this another case of smart lawyers using the ECHR beyond its original meaning?

 @MercifulP0l1cyRepublicanfrom Guam commented…2mos2MO

Remember, this was *definitely* the aim of Winston Churchill when he helped create the court.

 @V3toCrowPeace and Freedomfrom Virginia commented…2mos2MO

I don’t understand. I live in Switzerland and they are a small country who are so environmentally conscious. Hardly anyone uses airconditioning, many people ride bikes or use public transport instead of driving. Recycling is huge, etc. they seem to really respect the environment

If you were a judge on this case, would you have ruled in favor of the women, and why?
