President Biden’s announcement last week that his administration would seek to forgive billions of dollars’ worth of federal student loans was cheered by progressives, the latest in a string of actions he has taken to shore up support from the left—annoying the center in the process.
That has some Democrats worrying he is making a big mistake. Despite much recent hand-wringing about the unpopular president’s need to shore up his base with liberal appeals, polls show Biden’s principal weakness isn’t with the left but with the middle of the electorate. The president, some centrists argue, isn’t doing enough to appeal to the moderate and independent voters who tend to decide elections.
“The voters that elected Biden in the first place are the center-left voters that liked his centrist policies, not the Bernie Sanders-Elizabeth Warren slice of the electorate,” said Lauren Harper Pope, who co-founded a group called WelcomePAC that urges Democrats to make pragmatic, big-tent appeals. “Yet the administration seems to have a fear of talking about things people actually care about if it might offend a small group of ideological activists.”In a recent Wall Street Journal poll that found Biden narrowly trailing former President Donald Trump in the top battleground states, the two candidates drew roughly equal shares of their respective parties when polled head-to-head: Biden won 88% of Democrats, while Trump won 90% of Republicans. With independent voters, Trump led by six points, 36% to 30%. Similarly,…

No, Biden will not get my vote, and neither will Trump. Democracy is already broken as evidence by these two disgusting figures as our now binary choice brought about by the partisan mental pygmies that voted and brought them forward. The Republicans have become a spineless group of backward superstitious zombies, and the Dems are vacuous shells of woke whiners trying to spend their way to prosperity... with my money. It will all collapse, sooner I hope, than later. My beautiful USA, RIP.

"President falls behind with independents; ‘they don’t see the White House for what it’s actually doing."These people don't just lie to us, they lie to themselves. Everyone sees the White House for what it's actually doing. It's destroying our country. They can whine and lie and spew all the propaganda they want. They brought this on themselves. If they aren't voted out in the largest "shellacking" (to use their real leader's own word) in history, it'll only be because their counters on polling day added some zeroes.Worst president ever. Your vote counts in November. Don't forget that.
Like an indulgent parent, Biden attends to the loudest, whiniest voices in the room, afraid of offending the ones who most need offending. The reasonable, responsible rest of us watch as the undeserving get their loans paid off, their crimes forgiven, their illegal border crossings rewarded to the detriment of U.S. citizens, and their traffic-stopping, country-hating protests tolerated. We'll respond accordingly come November.

The article is spot on! Biden's entire focus is on far left priorities. In the process, he has alienated independents like myself. Some examples of egregious far left governance:
Shoving down EVs on an unwilling populace.
Opening up the border to uncontrolled illegal immigration.
Actually apologizing for calling an illegal immigrant "illegal".
Finding all kinds of legal loopholes for student loan forgiveness, yet not finding any legal solutions for controlling the border.
