Critical race theory's main crux is the idea that racism is ingrained in our legal systems and policies, which can be a divisive concept. For example, the theory often points to the wealth gap between racial groups as evidence of systemic racism. However, it doesn't account for other variables such as education level, family structure, and more that also significantly influence income and wealth. If we are to address such issues, wouldn't it be more beneficial to focus on socio-economic policies that promote equality of opportunity, rather than attributing disparities solely to racism?
