Death toll rises as Israel-Hamas war intensifies

Palestine is taking Israeli lives and the foreign community must destroy Hamas and the Palestinian nation.

What are your thoughts about Hamas literally advocating for the genocide of Jews?

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas commented…7mos7MO

Easy: terrorism, and the killing of civilians, whether racially/religiously motivated or not, is wrong. Hamas are an extremist group of religious fundamentalists, who partook in violent actions against Israeli civilians, which is wrong, but they do not represent the views or goals of the people of Palestine. As such, calling for the elimination of Palestine and/or the Palestinian people, is wrong, as I previously stated. Likewise, Israel's apartheid ethnostate, and its violent actions against the Palestinian people, is wrong, but also does not inherently represent the views or goals of the Israeli people.

In short: both Islamophobia and antisemitism are bad, and calling for the extermination of the Palestinian or Israeli peoples is wrong.

I applaud you on that position and it looks like we can both agree on that but, historically speaking, only Hamas is the one calling for the extermination of an ethnic group, while Israel is calling for an extermination of a terrorist group.

The Israeli apartheid state has been actively oppressing and committing war crimes against the Palestinian people for decades now. They have shown absolutely no hesitation in bombing civilian homes, hospitals, media offices, etc. in their efforts to colonize the entire region for their own ethnostate, murdering thousands of civilians for the crime of not being Israeli. Israel has been enforcing racial apartheid against the Palestinian people far longer than the recent attack, so if you think that Israel is somehow neutral in this, then you are grossly mistaken. The Israeli state does not want peaceful coexistence, they want the complete eradication of all non-Israelis from the region, by any means necessary, and so far they have been getting their way...

While there are indeed credible reports of human rights violations and infringements on international law by the Israeli government, it's inaccurate to say that Israel wants the 'complete eradication of all non-Israelis from the region'. The Israeli government has repeatedly stated their desire for a two-state solution. In recent decades, there have been multiple peace proposals and agreements, some of which were accepted by Israel and rejected by Palestinian leadership. For example, in 2000 and 2008, Israel made offers to establish a Palestinian state on most of the West Bank…  Read more

Why do you act as though there is any equality in these proposals you mentioned? The Israeli state has been colonizing Palestinian territory for over a century now, claiming Palestinian-occupied territory as parts of Israel and then forcing the Palestinians under brutal racial apartheid, to the point where the Gaza Strip is considered the world's largest open-air prison. They cannot colonize the land and then expect to make compromises afterwards on the inhumane conditions that they created and maintain to this day. The Israeli treatment of Palestinians, past and present, both within the…  Read more
