But it's also a win in that ICJ did not call for a ceasefire.
Everyone knows that Israel is a supremacist state committing mass murder. We don't need ICJ to validate that. We need a ceasefire.
Can the court call for a ceasefire? The scope of the case is genocide, not armed conflict in itself. Its an important milestone that the ICJ recognized that Israel's actions amount to genocide, which makes it very difficult for Western supporters with their card blanche arguments

My initial impression is that the ICJ ruling is a huge defeat for Israel, both in substance and by the lopsided votes. ICJ did not order a ceasefire, but ordering it, among other things, to "stop killing members of the group" (Palestinians) it is effectively so.
The most respected and authoritative international court has ruled that (1) Israel is plausibly accused of genocide; (2) Palestinians are at grave risk of irreparable harm from potentially genocidal acts, which Israel must halt.
Once again, enormous thanks to South Africa and everyone who worked and is working on this case. This ruling must be implemented, which means increased popular pressure on all governments to force Genocidal "Israel" to comply.
This is a gaslighting show. In practice it gives Israel the green light
to carry on the genocide.

Why did the Ugandan judge vote against all the provisional measures?
