What happened to authorizations from Congress before partaking in acts of war?

 @AwedL1bertyTranshumanistfrom Maine commented…3mos3MO

This is the worst administration ever! Remember they changed the definition of recession to gaslight the public? Now they're redefining war what is. This administration is dangerous, not for only America but for the world!

I think this move is actually going to be horrible for Biden's reputation. Conservatives and independents already have their minds made up – he's a spineless moron. But liberal faction that supports world peace, which is a significant number of them, is going to stop supporting Biden for this. Biden is ripping his voter base to shreds by engaging in this warmongering and atrocious behaviour, and it will only hurt him come election day.

We can't just expect the federal government to follow the Constitution on its own, the States need to re-assert their sovereignty and constitutional rights by NULLIFYING these stupid measures and refusing to send money for their operation, as Virginia and Kentucky did in 1798, New England States did in 1815, South Carolina did in 1832, and Wisconsin did in the 1850s. Go to the Tenth Amendment Center website to learn more about this wonderful constitutional defence states have against federal tyranny – and together we can push for the legislatures of our states to use this powerful shield against encroachment to the fullest of their abilities, and force Biden to respect the Constitution. Keyword – Nullification.

Troop movement belongs to president. If he moves them into harms way you get a conflict which can stretch decades it’s the new code for”war”

 @RhinoArtAmerican Solidarity from Texas commented…3mos3MO

US is officially at war with Iran.

No more proxy war.

US drops 125 bombs on 85 targets linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard in devastating airstrikes on Iraq and Syria.

Whatever happened to world peace under this administration?

 @R3gulationLlamaRepublican from Georgia commented…3mos3MO

You know, clearly it's not like the US has been involved in countless proxy wars and military operations around the world for decades or anything, or that maybe this latest action is just another attempt to counter Iran's influence in the region without actually escalating to a full-blown conflict.

 @TreasuryHareGreen from Rhode Island commented…3mos3MO

We are bombing Iraq and Syria because our troops were attacked in Iraq and Syria.

But why do we even have troops in Syria and Iraq? Seriously, why do we have ANY troops there.

We can bomb anywhere on the planet. Why do we have troops on the ground?

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington commented…3mos3MO

This is one of the only times I can say in full honesty to a liberal "I heartily agree with you!"

 @GrudgingBl4ckBoxRepublican from Ohio commented…3mos3MO

Because, you know, clearly the answer to why we have troops in Iraq and Syria is so simple and straightforward, right?

And now we've got people asking why we have troops on the ground when we can just bomb the hell out of everything from the sky. Because, you know, clearly that's a great solution for creating peace and stability in the region.

 @9JN334X from Wisconsin commented…3mos3MO

Bombs are not the answer. We have killed so many innocent people with those bombs. If they want to fight fine, but don't bomb them and bring innocent people in it who have nothing to do with what you are fighting about.

And risk thousands of American lives in the process? No. It’s a move built to ensure American safety, though it has risk, it’s less overall cost on our side.

 @9JMS8K2 from Illinois commented…3mos3MO

Disgusting use of power when the US has been a main contributor to fanning flames in the Middle East leading to the deaths of our soldiers. Moreover, other American citizens were killed previously with no retribution from our government so why is now the time to add fire to the flame?

 @9JNMCY4 from Oregon commented…3mos3MO

I think it's important that Americans understand that ongoing conflict in the middle east (and elsewhere) is not something far removed from the U.S..

I think it is good that the United States is retaliating against Iran back terrorist groups that have been attacking US troops.

 @9JP3TMG from Colorado commented…3mos3MO

I think it my opinion on the topic would depend on specific information for why the US did it.

 @9JNZ3K6 from Washington commented…3mos3MO

I do not think the United States should have been involved in an act that doesn't really involve us.

 @9JNTKGN from Kansas commented…3mos3MO

I think it is unfair for the citizens to suffer this type of situation, especially because there are innocent families that end up dying due to the bombs, and I wonder if the bombs were necessary to be let down in public areas. The bombs also lead to multiple problems such as the outcome and having to redo and reconstruct buildings, etc.

 @9JNS7Y8 from Ohio commented…3mos3MO

There is no reason and no excuse that the U.S should send 185 bombs to any other country.

The moderate view is that we shouldn't be engaging in foreign battles if we can't afford to provide for the people on our own land. The more radical view is that Joe Biden is enabling genocide and using rampant Islamophobia to shield himself from criticism.

End the war between Israel and Palestine and give Palestine complete sovereignty and right to self-determination.

US soldiers have been sitting ducks in these hostile nations for decades – and our "bases" have been attacked DOZENS of times, without much of any notice paid to it by the media. It's only when Biden's disapproval rating reaches 66% and everyone sees how weak and spineless that the media – and the government – decide to make a mountain out of it. I'm not the first to say this, but I think Biden's whole intention here is to create around himself the aurora of a "Wartime leader" who is boldly staring down a crisis, when, in fact, if he…  Read more
