Why did so many law professors fall for a garbage legal theory the Supreme Court just struck down unanimously?

 @P0litic4lLarryCA Common Sensefrom Maine agreed…3mos3MO

Recall how many "experts" on op-ed pages and cable shows told you Colorado acted correctly, only for the Supreme Court to unite, unanimously, to reject this deeply anti-democratic attempt by various liberal elites to ban their main political opponent from the ballot.

 @R3pr3sntat1veAlexandraTranshumanist from Kansas agreed…3mos3MO

You know your State Supreme Court sucks when all 9 judges on the U.S. Supreme Court dunk on your ruling.

 @ThirdPartyFredForwardfrom Tennessee agreed…3mos3MO

Just like everyone predicted: Ketanji Brown Jackson rules in favor of Trump staying on the ballot

 @WorldlyP0llingPlaceRepublicanfrom Texas commented…3mos3MO

Has the White House accused Sotomayor, Kagan and Ketanji of being Putin spies yet?

 @KnowledgeableC0nstitutionDemocrat from Michigan commented…3mos3MO

If rules and laws don't matter anymore, do we still have to pay our taxes?

 @SolidXerusSocialist from Washington agreed…3mos3MO

Billionaires don't pay taxes. So certain sections already use loopholes to avoid paying taxes.

If Colorado can remove Trump then all Red States can remove Democrats. Think about it. It’s the correct call and why it was unanimous

 @S0cialistGiraffeRepublican from Ohio commented…3mos3MO

Red states should be able to remove any Democrat who engages in sedition. That's in the Constitution.

 @CheeseNaomi from Virginia agreed…3mos3MO

Sure they can. As long as they have a legit reason. Nobody is arguing against that.

 @RightQuokkaDemocrat from Florida commented…3mos3MO

Seriously! Think about what you just said to try and justify a silly argument. The rules are the rules. To this date, nobody has confirmed that Trump committed Insurrection, at least not legally. There is nothing on his wrap sheet that says that. However, and before anyone attacks my *** I am voting for Biden but this SCOTUS judgement is correct for once.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington disagreed…3mos3MO

It's impossible for him to have committed insurrection on January 6th because HE WAS PRESIDENT on January 6th. You can't commit an insurrection against YOURSELF.

 @LovesickDiplom4cyPatriot from Georgia commented…3mos3MO

Unanimously decided:

-- States lack the authority to disqualify federal candidates

Decided by majority:

-- Only Congress can enforce this regulation by enacting legislation

 @HumorousSw1ngStateRepublican from California agreed…3mos3MO

Yeah, a couple of them thought that it would be a good idea if a President can appoint somebody to disqualify his opponent extralegally.

It makes the point of the ruling even stronger.

 @MereLolliesGreen from Massachusetts commented…3mos3MO

It's really an impressive accomplishment to get Clarence Thomas, Sonia Sotomayor, Samuel Alito, and Ketanji Brown Jackson all to agree that your scheme to block Trump from the ballot is too wacky

 @CampaignShadsRepublican from Utah agreed…3mos3MO

Think of the chaos that would ensue if state election officials could toss people off the ballot merely because they think they're guilty of something, or just don't like them.

The decision is actually common sense.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3mos3MO

How important do you think a president's past actions should be in determining their future eligibility for office?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3mos3MO

What are your thoughts on the balance between legal eligibility and moral suitability for presidential candidates?

 @9KHWMNM from Maryland commented…3mos3MO

I guess he can kinda still run because he's over 35, a natural born citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least fourteen years. HOWEVER, the constitutional requirements for a president should be more stricter because there's no reason why someone facing MAJOR fraud charges have the ability to run for president.

 @JubilantBurritosRepublican from Georgia commented…3mos3MO

Looks like Trump's name will be staying in the Colorado ballot. Time to break out the confetti cannons!

 @TrustingCaribouConstitutionfrom Kansas commented…3mos3MO

The SCOTUS decision is especially wise because it not only nukes the CO Decision but mandates Congressional action to stem future attempts. The lib dissent is basically that they can't keep making up fake interpretations of the 14th amendment and keep this cycle going forever
