Here are your answers compared to this voter’s answers.
Social › Abortion
9>9 Personal answerI believe citizens are born or migrate legally to the USA. Once born the child receives all the protections of citizenship. Prior to birth the fetus is a potential citizen. |
Domestic Policy › Gun Control
9>9 Personal answerI believe we should enforce all currently constitutional gun control laws, before we create more. I ran for office in Pennsylvania with the attitude of, "Fewer laws, better enforcement," |
Social › Planned Parenthood Funding
9>9 Personal answerNo, and the government should not give funds to any organizations |
the Environment › Climate Change
9>9 Personal answerI believe "the environment belongs to all of us," When individuals or groups do harm to "our property," they should be held accountable for fixing the damage, just the same as if I damage my neighbors' property I should be accountable for the damage I do. It is my opinion, that groups who polite the air (a single example) to create a profit for themselves, should be required to clean the air at their own expense. Whether this is accomplished through taxes or lawsuits does not matter in my opinion. Though I generally dislike government use of incentives to manipulate business. I am of the opinion that past government actions have provided certain types of advantages for some types of businesses and reduce the natural competitiveness of of our current state of affairs. Therefore, I am not absolutely opposed to government finding ways to incentivize alternatives. |
the Economy › Taxes
9>9 Personal answerI believe the personal income tax should be repealed as I have been taught that it is unconstitutional. But if it is not repealed, then I think it should be a fair tax, not giving any one advantage over others. I liked Jerry Brown's proposal that if we are going to have an income tax, it should be a flat tax with no exemptions or deductions. |
Education › Free College for All
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Education › Student Loans
9>9 Personal answerI profited by use of student loans in the seventies, when interest was lower. I paid my loans back "early." I felt and still do feel that the concept of student loans can be a good assist to improve the lives of individuals & families. However, with interest rates so high, it seems they are more of a trap than an aide. I believe student loans must be repaid. There must be a means of recouping the money loaned to individuals. Borrowing money that you do not repay is either or both fraud and theft. |
Social › Government Mandates
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Healthcare › Medicaid
9>9 Personal answerNo, and each state should decide their own level of coverage |
Science › Mandatory Vaccinations
9>9 Personal answerNo, but require vaccination in order to attend public school |
the Environment › Alternative Energy
9>9 Personal answerIn my understanding, power companies (among other companies) have received government assistance and incentives in the past which have given them advantage and negated natural completion. Therefore, I am not absolutely opposed to government assisting other forms of energy production. |
Immigration › Immigration Healthcare
9>9 Personal answerNo |
the Environment › Alaska Wildlife Refuge
9>9 Personal answerAs stayed above, I also, believe strongly that property claimed by our government for purposes of creating public parks or other public purposes should not be leased/sold or leant to private citizens to groups to make personal profit. |
Elections › Voter Fraud
9>9 Personal answerThis is acceptable to me so long as all CITIZENS have adequate opportunity and resources to obtain qualified photo ID. |
Healthcare › COVID Employment Health Pass
9>9 Personal answerIf the government is requiring small businesses and individuals to be vaccinated, yes. But whether government should mandate vaccinations is questionable to me. |
Immigration › Border Wall
9>9 Personal answerIllegal immigrants should be deported to their country of origin or China/Russia. |
Domestic Policy › Gun Liability
9>9 Personal answerYes, as long as the losing party pays all legal fees, it’s our constitutional right to sue anyone for any reason |
Crime › Defunding the Police
9>9 Personal answerThis is a local issue, for which each locality should decide! |
Elections › Right of Foreigners to Vote
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Crime › Demilitarize the Police
9>9 Personal answerOnly if extreme circumstances warrant, those using military grade equipment have been well trained in it's use and why it should be used and specially trained supervisors are present to make the decision. |
Immigration › In-State Tuition
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Education › Common Core
9>9 Personal answerNo, education should be handled at the state and local level instead of the national level |
Foreign Policy › United Nations
9>9 Personal answerI am unsure of the wisdom of our being in or out of the UN. I believe this is a question that should be answered by Congress. |
Healthcare › Obamacare
9>9 Personal answerGenerally, I believe government should not be in the healthcare business, unless it is for the general welfare of the nation/state. When it comes to government intervention of healthcare I believe that control of contagious disease is the only justifiable reason for government intervention. |
Elections › Electoral College
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Foreign Policy › Military Spending
9>9 Personal answerThe only valid purpose for a standing military is to protect US citizens and our nation as a whole. I tend to feel that Military spending exceeds the requirement to do this. |
Crime › Collective Bargaining
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Science › Nuclear Energy
9>9 Personal answerYes, but producers must take appropriate precautions for community safety and be required to maintain a security fund to provide for clean up and healthcare for those who become harmed by such use. This should be a State and local decision. |
Foreign Policy › Weapon Sales Ethics
9>9 Personal answerI do not feel the government should be in any business, profitable or not. So, I do not believe the government should be selling guns to any one. |
Science › GMO Labels
9>9 Personal answerConsumers have the right to know what they are purchasing, but also the responsibility to find out what it is they are purchasing. |
Crime › Prison Overcrowding
9>9 Personal answerYES, but many circumstances must be involved in such a decision; such as history of repeated/escalating criminal activity, behavior while incarcerated, parole violations, etc. |
Education › Universal Pre-K
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Housing › Homeless Encampments
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Transportation › Public Transportation
9>9 Personal answerNo |
Education › Charter Schools
9>9 Personal answerI support the general concept of charter schools, but I don't want to support them with my taxes. If a family wants to send their child to a private school that's their business. |
the Environment › Plastic Product Ban
9>9 Personal answerAs above, the environment belongs to all of us. I believe that some of us desire to profit by using particular products that others will purchase and may then dispose of in ways that harm "our" property, either personal or general. I believe that those who profit from producing these products for personal/business profit should hold a responsibility for appropriate disposal of said products. Also, those who purchase such products should also hold a personal responsibility for proper disposal. I believe it would not be improper for the government to regulate or tax those who create and or use such products, such that the cost of clean up/disposal would fall upon those who participate in the creation and use of such products. |
Crime › Criminal Voting Rights
9>9 Personal answerYes, except those convicted of treason or insurrection. |
National Security › Military Congressional Approval
9>9 Personal answerOnly, if there is immediate need for such action. The President's action should be reviewed by Congress afterwards and if warranted, the President should be subject to censor. |
the Environment › Paris Climate Agreement
9>9 Personal answerI believe, Congress should thoroughly review the Paris Climate Agreement, discuss/debate it and then decide whether we should withdraw from it. Certainly, I am not in favor of our entering into Treaties in which we (the USA) are the sole contributors. It is my opinion that the President should have limited power to enter into Treaties and that Congress should have final authority to approve or disapprove any treaty. |
National Security › Foreign Assassination
9>9 Personal answerNo |
National Security › Mexican Drug Cartels
9>9 Personal answerOnly with the agreement/request of Mexico. Just as I do not believe one US state should ever cross another State's border to capture someone who broke that state's law. |
the Economy › Online Sales Tax
9>9 Personal answerYes, exempting online retailers from sales taxes is not fair to traditional stores |
the Economy › Decentralized Finance
9>9 Personal answerLet the market decide, but there should be reasonable protections of individuals against fraud. |
